Artemisia Artwear

ARTEMISIA Artwear garments are Artemisia owner Annette Randell's personal designs and creations.
Casually elegant jackets, vests, dusters and tunics are her trade mark, primarily playing with color and texture, adding patches, beading, piping, contrasting binding and interesting buttons as Annette feels the garment is asking for while it is being created.
To accommodate spontaneity during the creative process, as well as ensuring quality control, each garment is designed and created by Annette herself. It's what makes an Artemisia Artwear garment truly one of a kind and a very personal labor of love.

Nothing tops the Santa Fe Opera Coat for a dramatic entrance! If you want
to be a little bit more casual, how about the Taos Medicine Woman Coat?
Both garments make an artistic statement, reflecting the colors and beauty
of the Southwest.
You may also want to consider a custom order of a one-of-a kind silk crepe
jacket or elegant velvet jacket. Knowing you're the only one to have this
garment will definitely set you apart from the crowd.

Owning my own business lets me work on my designs and garments exactly as it suits me: Completely spontaneous!
Maybe I have a custom order going, or maybe I am in my studio to do a series of tunics with asymmetrical hems and the various fabrics are already rolled out on the table, when - inevitably - this happens:
Out of the corner of my eye I spot another fabric that suddenly looks irresistible to me and makes me think, "hmmm, that would look great with that hand painted organza I got in Paris last year".
Then, abandoning my scheduled project for the day, I feverishly look for that organza silk, and I envision what the combination would look best as: a jacket, a vest, or whatever! By the time I have found the other fabrics or contrast trims, I have also pulled out a few patterns to consider, and I just start cutting away...
I am happiest working that way. In the end, each garment is a surprise to myself - and always a revelation: To see how well an idea spontaneously born in my imagination got translated into the reality of a finished garment.
Sometimes, I am disappointed, and I will not put that garment up for sale, but mostly, I will be content, if not happy, with what I created, and I'll take it over to Artemisia.

Custom orders for one-of-a-kind pieces make up an ever increasing part of
my Artemisia Artwear line. After obtaining an idea of what you'd like, I
will send you fabric samples and swatches, and you might end up
co-designing your very own Artemisia Artwear garment!
The jacket in the middle above is an example: Created for a rehearsal
dinner in Texas, it was to show Southwestern motives, but also stars,
hearts, horses, and incorporate fabrics sent by the owner, to be part of
the jacket.
